Dynafit is a brand with its sights set on the mountain tops. The story behind it dates back to the 50's, then under the name Humanic, which later became Dynafit. With their boots, ski legend Franz Klammer took gold in downhill during the Winter Olympics in 1976. Today, the company is a leader in categories such as ski touring, trail running and offers a wide range of products developed by dedicated athletes who test materials and construction and design with athletes.

In 1950, Humanic begins to manufacture boots. Fifteen years later, the first boots with the buckles are launched.

In 1973 Franz Klammer won the downhill race in Planai / Schladming, Austria, in DYNAFIT boots and three years later he won the downhill race of the Olympic men in Innsbruck.

In 1980, Leonhard Stock wins Olympic gold. The company is granted permission to use the Austrian coat of arms and a year later, the successful World Cup Competition model is the world's first boot to be awarded the IAS's Golden Seal of Approval.

Innovation does not stop
In 1983, the company introduced Tourlite, a completely new design and was then also the lightest ski / climbing boot in the world. Just two years later, the company introduces the CDE (rear entry) collection, which is the first and only alpine boot at the time with the GORE-TEX® Thermo Dry.

In the years that follow, the company introduces several products that are milestones in the history of ski mountaineering. In the early 90s, the Tourlite Tech boot/binding combination is launched. Considered a sensation, it is the lightest safety binding in the world for touring skis – lighter than any comparable binding on the market. In 2006 the TLT Vertical binding is introduced, followed by the "Beast" Freeride binding in 2013 and the Cho Oyu Ski - the perfect ski for all conditions in the Alps or Himalayas.

In 1991, DYNAFIT was acquired by Raichle Sport Holding AG, Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. Five years later, DYNAFIT returns to Austria: On 1 January 1996, DYNAFIT GmbH is established with headquarters in Molln, Austria. In 1998, the production of ski boots ceased and three years later the company became part of Salzer Holding GmbH, the parent company of the Salzer-Ueberreuter-Economos Group. It is a family business that from the beginning focused on printing, publishing and paper, but which since the 70s also deals with plastic processing.

In 2002, DYNAFIT Skischuh GmbH changed its name to DYNAFIT Sports GmbH. With that change, DYNAFIT is now breaking new ground and starting to sell ABS avalanche airbags worldwide. In February 2003, Salewa Group, which has belonged to the Oberalp Group since 1990, acquires DYNAFIT. Thus, it becomes part of the family-owned company in Bolzano, Italy. However, its headquarters remain in Munich, Germany.
