Merida bicycles has been working with the manufacture of bicycles for over 48 years and while many things have changed over the years, the company still makes bicycles by hand. That was very much the intention of the founder AV Merida bikes Ike Tseng to improve the reputation and quality of bicycles 'Made in Taiwan', and it remains the most important goal of the company today. The "creation" of a new bike begins with highly qualified R&D teams, which are based in the technical heart of Germany, where new ideas, concepts and trends are put into the outline of a new bike. From there, it goes through countless stages of drawing, modeling and measuring before the first prototypes are hand-built and welded in the factory in Taiwan. These prototypes go through many phases of testing and refinement until the final goal is achieved. Parallel to this process, graphics and paint teams work tirelessly to give the bike the perfect look.
