Mountain bike (MTB) bikes - out in the terrain!

A mountain bike is a faithful companion both in cities and out in the woods. The bike can take you to and from work during the day and out on adventures in the woods on the weekend. We have both aluminum and carbon fiber frames and three different wheel sizes; 26, 27,5 and 29 ″ inches. Here you will find everything from entry-level MTB to professional bikes.

What is a mountain bike?

A mountain bike, which is usually abbreviated to MTB, is originally a bicycle used in the forest - on the mountain (hence the name). They always had 26 ″ wheels, but today 27,5 ″ and 29 ″ are the most common wheel sizes. Today, the area of ​​use is much wider, and it is a smooth and comfortable all-round bike for those who want to be able to ride a little everywhere.

In our bike shop in Malmö, we have all types of MTB's you can imagine - hardtails, fully damped mountain bikes, fat bikes, enduro, trail etc. We also have so-called women-specific mountain bikes. This does not mean that only women can use these, or that women are limited to choosing such a model, but only that it is possible to choose an MTB with a lower entry and a shorter distance to the handlebars. For those of you who want a little assistance when you cycle, we also have electric mountain bikes that give you that extra push that may be needed when fighting up steep slopes.

Cross country - XC

A Cross Country bike is for you who like to ride terrain on slightly simpler surfaces where the focus is on speed and distance. A Cross Country MTB can be a hardtail or a fully damped MTB and the Wheel Size is either 27,5 ”or 29” inches. They often have a lower weight and shorter stroke for a more efficient power transmission. Cross Country is the widest and most popular category in MTB because you can ride almost anywhere.

Trail

Trail bikes are MTB bikes that are adapted to be ridden on narrow forest roads, tough trails and generally more technical cycling in the forest. Trail-MTB's are usually fully damped and equipped with a dropper post so that you can quickly raise and lower the saddle depending on the surface. They often have a longer stroke and a flexible geometry to overcome all the obstacles that the forest can offer. Trail bikes also work well for XC cycling, although they are often not as race-oriented.

Enduro bikes

Enduro bikes can handle really tough downhill runs with jumps and flights. But at the same time they are light and efficient enough for you to be able to get between the paths. These MTB bikes have a longer stroke, thicker tires with proper grip so you can ride up the mountain as well as down. An Enduro mountain bike is equipped with both rear shocks and front shocks to be able to handle even the really advanced obstacles that the terrain has to offer.

Downhill mountain bikes

Downhill-MTB's are fully damped mountain bikes with durable components to be able to handle what many call the cycling downhill. This is about getting down slopes and mountains as fast as possible. Therefore, these MTB bikes have a stroke between 160 mm - 220 mm, are lightweight and equipped with hydraulic disc brakes. Downhill bikes are also more tilted backwards, this to avoid a forward tilt on a steep hill.
