How do you go about buying skis in the store (or online)?

We at Cykel & Skid-Experten pick out downhill skis for you who ride carefully but also for you who are advanced skiers.

We have a large selection of different skis when it comes to brands and have many pairs of skis of each model, which means that we can find the right skis just for you.

What do we need to know about you?

1. Weight and length

We need to know your right weight and height to be able to choose the right skis with the right span for you. Of course you can go up and down in weight but we need to know your usual weight.

2. Style of riding

Piste skiing - for you who ride on nice and prepared slopes
Allmountain skis - for you who want a ski that fits the whole mountain and that works both on the piste and off the prepared slope. All-mountain skis are often divided into piste all-mountain with a waist of 75-90 mm and Off-piste all-mountain skis with a waist of 80-100 mm.
Off-piste / Freestyle skiing - for those who want to ride on untracked terrain often in loose snow that is at least 70 cm deep and from the top of the mountain or in the forest
Twintipskidor - for you who are playful and enjoy jumping, railing and landing backwards, in other words park skis.
Top tour and cross-country skiing
- for you who want to go up to the top of the mountain and combine with free riding down or just walk in nature off groomed slopes, hunt, enjoy nature and at the same time exercise in a winter landscape. This discipline requires special bindings and boots as well as riser skins to be able to attach to the snow while you walk. In addition to that, much else is required such as avalanche equipment, backpack, mat and drink, back protection, first aid, etc.

Level 3

We usually divide our levels into four groups.

Beginner - Here we have you who are just getting started with skiing and therefore do not have such good technology. Here it is important that the ski span does not become too hard, and that it is easy to get a grip.

Co-driver  - This is you who skis a lot and appreciates a ski that gives good glide but does not require too much technology to get a grip on.

Medium - Here you are who loves to ski, and preferably fast. You have good technology and who rides all slopes. Here you usually choose a little better equipment to give yourself the best conditions

Advanced - It is only the best, fastest and easiest that is good enough for this skier. You have planned your winter based on various competitions and can not settle for anything other than the absolute best. The technology is really good and you want a ski that gives the absolute best grip.

If you buy skis online then you see the category where the product / ski is located, the ski's properties, class and technology under each product's description and then it's just a question of what length to buy.

Here we explain quickly and easily which length of ski you choose.
For piste skis, usually 15 cm shorter than the skier's body length, which means that the ski reaches the area between the chin and the nose.
When it comes to children and complete beginners then you choose even shorter, 15-25 cm to make plowing easier (go with braking).
For other categories, you choose your body length or 5 cm shorter.
